BIOGRAPHY

Frank McKearn started his love of music singing harmony to Sesame Street songs at the age of two, started playing piano at the age of three, picked up a trumpet at the age of nine, and has yet to put it down.

A graduate of Beloit Memorial High School's jazz program, one of the best in the country, Frank was a four-time participant of the Essentially Ellington competition and festival. Through the connections he made in that program, he solidified his desire to pursue music.  During high school, Frank also played in the Southern Wisconsin jazz and blues scene being tutored by the great Madison trombonist, Darren Sterud.

Frank is currently at Northern Illinois University, studying under the direction of Chicago trumpet player Art Davis.
